We love the sun but achieving a tan naturally can come with harsh consequences; think premature ageing, sun damage and a face that will look more like your parent's vintage leather couch than Miranda Kerr's forever young forehead by the time you hit 30.

But we also love the golden glow that comes from spending time outdoors - a Catch 22 one might say. So, we mixed together real ingredients to create a natural fake tan for your face. This natural face tanning water is non-comedogenic, so you don't need to worry about pesky breakouts either!

Directions

For best results, spray the natural Tanning Mist 2-3 times onto freshly cleansed, dry skin. Use the Tanning Blending Brush to blend the tan evenly over your face. Don’t forget your neck, decolletage, and ears! Use the Mist for a few days in a row to reach your desired shade, and then 2-3 times per week to maintain a radiant, bronzed glow. For a deeper tan, simply use a few extra sprays.

Aqua (H₂O’s Fancy Name), Dihydroxyacetone, Erythrulose, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Propanediol, Betaine, Saccharide Isomerate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Caprylhydroxamic Acid (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Glycerin, Polysorbate-20, Fragrance (Phthalate Free - Vanilla), Citric Acid.

Because we make our products for our families, we have a strict ingredient philosophy that excludes ingredients like Parabens, Phenoxyethanol and penetration enhancers.

Can I do my skincare routine before or after applying the Tanning Mist?

For best results, we recommend applying the Tanning Mist on freshly cleansed, dry skin. The formula hydrating on the skin though if you have extra dry skin, we’d recommend waiting 30 minutes before applying moisturiser to ensure the tan can penetrate your skin with no barriers.

I’ve just had my brows and/or lashes done. Can I apply the Tanning Mist afterwards?

We recommend waiting 24-48 hours after your service before using our Tanning Mist to ensure the best results and the longevity of your lashes or brows. This will prevent your brows or lashes from getting wet, which might shorten the life of your results.

Waiting 24-48 hours also reduces the possibility of your dye/tint fading prematurely or reacting to the natural tanning ingredients in our Mist, which can alter the colour of your dye/tint due to the natural chemical reaction.

What’s the difference between the Tanning Face Water & Tanning Body Water?

Our Natural Tanning Face Mist has all the same benefits of our Tanning Body Water, however with an added ingredient to improve the appearance of skin texture and increase plumpness! Who doesn’t want some of that all over their face? We’ll take 5.

How long does this self tanner take to develop?

Our Face Mist contains two natural tanning ingredients, DHA and Erythrulose, which can be washed off after 2 hours of applying. Your colour will look its best after 24 hours, so we suggest applying the tan a day or two before special events. This will also allow you to reapply for achieving darker results.

How dark is the shade going to be?

We designed our Natural Tanning Range to give you a natural-looking tan that varies from person to person. Results will depend on your natural skin colour and undertones. This tan gives you a sun-kissed glow that makes people think you've been relaxing by the seaside. Please note, this is not performance fake tan.

Will I look orange?

We’ve done our best to avoid all hints of orange in this formula! The exact shade and depth of the tan will vary from person to person though, depending on your natural skin type and colour.

What does this smell like?

If you're like us, you're probably tired of the coconut scent often used in tanning products to cover up the smell. We chose our signature MooGoo vanilla scent because it is a special blend of fragrant oils that are phthalate-free (the ingredients in fragrance that often cause skin reactions).

How long will this last, will it go blotchy?

Our formula has skin-hydrating ingredients like Saccharide Isomerate, Pro Vitamin B5 and Aloe Vera to help your skin fade evenly and naturally. To maintain the quality of your tan, exfoliate your skin 24 hours before applying the tanning solution.

After applying and rinsing off the tan, make sure to moisturise your skin regularly. The more hydrated you keep your skin, the more naturally your tan will fade! Luckily, we make plenty of moisturisers that do just that.

Does it stain your sheets?

From the feedback we gathered during testing, our Tanning range is not sheet-staining because of the clear formula. To be on the safe side though, wait until your tan is fully dry before going to bed. This will help protect both your sheets and your tan.

Why is there no colour guide? How do I know where I’ve applied it?

We specifically formulated our Tanning range without a colour guide to keep things mess and stain free! Simply spray the Tanning Mist evenly across your face and use our Blending Brush to blend.

Is this suitable for irritated and /or sensitive skin types?

Yes! We made this range for people with sensitive skin who usually avoid traditional tanning products due to the chemicals and potential reactions. We use no Parabens, Phenoxyethanol or other nasties and have instead included skin hydrating ingredients.

Most tanning products break me out – is this non-comedogenic?

Yep! We make our entire Tanning range without using mineral oils, which commonly cause breakouts in skincare products. Being a water-based tanning mist, this formula is lightweight and won’t feel heavy on your skin.

Will Sunscreen remove my fake tan?

The quick answer…yes, some types of sunscreen may. The slightly longer and more accurate answer is that there are two broad types of ways to get sun protection. The first uses a physical block like Zinc or Clear Zinc that is designed to cover the skin and reflect off rays. The other type uses UV filters, and these are designed to absorb into the top layer of skin. To do this they are formulated with penetration enhancers.

So as you can imagine, if a product is designed to absorb into the top layer of skin where your fake tan also is, and then get washed off, then some of your fake tan may also get washed away with it. So, at least on paper, a physical sunscreen probably wouldn’t wash off much fake tan. A UV filter-based sunscreen, because it has penetration enhancers, probably would.

In any case, we would say to wait about 12-24 hours after fake tanning before applying any sunscreen. And in that time please don’t lay out in the sun either!
