What other MooGoo products do you recommend for irritable skin?
We recommend using this product on affected areas and in conjunction with our Soothing MSM Moisturiser to soothe and moisturise the skin. Apply the Sensitive Skin Balm first and allow it to soak in for 2 minutes. Then apply the Soothing MSM Moisturiser over top and anywhere else you like for some added moisture and TLC. We also recommend using a gentle cleanser like our Milk Wash to help keep skin happy and hydrated by not stripping the natural oils which can cause dryness and irritation.
What ingredients do you avoid when making a moisturiser?
There's lots of things you won't find in this cream (or any of our other products) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. This includes Paraffin and Mineral Oil which derive from petroleum, but are commonly found in commercial moisturisers like Sorbolene. We don’t think putting the stuff that goes into our cars on our skin is the healthiest thing we can do.
We also don’t use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they're pretty common too, including with a few brands that claim to be natural (you know who you are!). We avoid a lot of other things too, way too many to list here. We also don't use any useless, trendy ingredients like stem cells from Swiss apples or super power jellyfish DNA, just natural, effective ingredients for healthy skin.
What does "Dermatologically Tested" mean?
You may have seen the term “Dermatologically Tested” on lots of products before, but did you know there’s not an actual definition or regulation for this term? Because that didn’t sit right with us, and because our aim is to make products for people with really sensitive skin, we decided to send a bunch of them off to be tested in an independent lab on 54 people who reported having sensitive skin. The results were given on a scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being no irritation or redness and 5 being a reaction. We’re happy to report that other than one person who had a reaction to the adhesive on the patch and another who found the patches painful to remove, all subjects reported 0 for redness and irritation for all the products we sent for testing. I ordered this product after seeing it recommended on here as an alternative to steroid and hydrocortisone creams. Previously I'd relied on hydrocortisone to control the eczema flare ups but this triggered me to develop perioral dermatitis. I have had irritation around my eyes for months now that I have been unable to treat due to having to go no-product for my perioral dermatitis.
I had been using the MSN Moisturiser for a few weeks before trying out this product to really target the angry red patches around my eyes. I didn't have high hopes, as previously nothing has worked for eczema flare ups around my eyes except for hydrocortisone, but I am glad to report that this Sensitive Skin Balm seems to be working.
The eczema around my eyes is already looking (and feeling!) a lot better after a few days of applying this a couple of times daily. Using any product around my eyes had been out of the question as it would inevitably end up in my eyes and cause a lot of irritation to my vision. However, this sensitive skin balm is quick to absorb and I haven't noticed any irritation or running into my eyes.
As others have mentioned, it does not have the delicious smell of the MSM Moisturiser and could be unpleasant to some. But after years of using steroid creams and medicated products, I am very happy to deal with a few minutes of this smell for all the relief it provides.

I found out the hard way you should not have an eyebrow wax after using retinol, the wax strip left my skin red raw and so sore! I rushed to my chemist and they recommended this stuff and as soon as I put it on it felt better 24 hours later the difference is AMAZING! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This is a lovely cream that absorbs well even on the face. The redness I have has reduced but not gone completely; however, I still plan to buy some other products for myself and a family member.

Not sure if I got a bad batch or if it’s supposed to smell like this but it smells just terrible when on my skin. Otherwise a really great product, but unfortunately I can’t use it because of the smell! I can’t see other reviews with the same issue so not sure what’s happened with mine.
