Many people, including babies, are troubled by skin that becomes red, dry and sometimes itchy around the scalp, hairline, neck, ears, eye areas, and along the side of the nose and mouth. These are oily areas of the skin and sometimes yeast on the skin can become more prevalent and cause irritation. This moisturising cream helps return the skin to a healthy condition. What other MooGoo products do you recommend for irritable skin?

We recommend using this product on affected areas and in conjunction with our Soothing MSM Moisturiser to soothe and moisturise the skin. Apply the Cradle Cap Scalp Cream first and allow it to soak in for 2 minutes. Then apply the Soothing MSM Moisturiser over top and anywhere else you like for some added moisture and TLC.

For scalp specific problems we recommend using with our Baby Gentle Shampoo 250ml and Cream Conditioner to help keep your scalp happy by not stripping the natural oils which can cause dryness and irritation. They also contain ingredients that will help control the micro-flora of the scalp.

What’s the best way to apply the Cradle Cap Scalp Cream to the scalp?

For best results, part the hair in as many places as possible and apply the cream to the scalp. Leave in overnight and wash out in the morning with a natural shampoo (we think ours is pretty good).

What’s the difference between this product and the Scalp Cream in different packaging?

This is the exact same formula as our original Scalp Cream. We often get asked if our products are suitable for use on babies and children, and the answer is YES! However, some parents are still cautious and don’t like to use products that don’t come in baby specific packaging. So, to ease the mind of parents we’ve decided to release this formula in cute baby packaging to showcase that it’s completely suitable for use on babies, infants and newborns. Not only does this tie in with the rest of our cute and colourful Baby Range but it will also help to reassure parents that these products can be used on the little ones!

I've used your original Scalp Cream on my baby. Is this OK?

You can definitely still use that product on your baby or children as it’s suitable for all ages. The intention behind this additional packaging is we wanted to provide parents with more peace of mind that our products are completely sutiable for all ages, including newborns.

What ingredients do you avoid when making a moisturiser?

There's lots of things you won't find in this cream (or any of our other products) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. This includes Paraffin and Mineral Oil which derive from petroleum, but are commonly found in commercial moisturisers like Sorbolene. We don’t think putting the stuff that goes into our cars on our skin is the healthiest thing we can do.

We also don’t use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they're pretty common too, including with a few brands that claim to be natural (you know who you are!). We avoid a lot of other things too, way too many to list here. We also don't use any useless, trendy ingredients like stem cells from Swiss apples or super power jellyfish DNA, just natural, effective ingredients for healthy skin.

What does "Dermatologically Tested" mean?

You may have seen the term “Dermatologically Tested” on lots of products before, but did you know there’s not an actual definition or regulation for this term? Because that didn’t sit right with us, and because our aim is to make products for people with really sensitive skin, we decided to send a bunch of them off to be tested in an independent lab on 54 people who reported having sensitive skin. The results were given on a scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being no irritation or redness and 5 being a reaction. We’re happy to report that other than one person who had a reaction to the adhesive on the patch and another who found the patches painful to remove, all subjects reported 0 for redness and irritation for all the products we sent for testing.
